I truly enjoy helping improve the lives of my patients. I love people and seeing their lives change because of what I do. It’s a rewarding experience to help someone who suffers from TMJ and chronic headaches become pain-free, or a patient who cannot tolerate a C-PAP machine for their sleep apnea get a good night’s rest through oral appliance therapy. This is why I have practiced dentistry, and continue to learn more about it every day, for over 35 years.
I am a native Alabamian, born in Tuscaloosa, and growing up in Florence. I earned my BS degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Alabama in 1974 before moving on to the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where I graduated in 1977. After graduation, I was part of a General Practice Residency in Dentistry at Huntsville Hospital. I have also completed several hands-on courses of study at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies where I cared for a number of patients requiring extensive cosmetic and restorative treatment, including full-mouth neuromuscular restoration for the treatment of TMJ/TMD and headaches.
Continuing to learn about my field is like second nature to me, so you’ll regularly find me attending dental study club meetings, the annual Alabama Academy of General Dentistry meeting, alumni meetings for the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, and numerous national meetings of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. I also put in many additional hours of continuing education every year to stay as current as possible. I’m very excited about the future of dentistry, in particular the amount of patients who could benefit from TMJ treatment and oral appliance therapy!

Giving back to my community is important to me, and I currently volunteer at the Community Free Clinic in Decatur treating indigent dental patients. I’ve served on Free Clinic’s board since it first opened its doors. I’ve also been on many dental mission trips to Central and South America.
I lived in Decatur for 34 years before moving to Huntsville last year, where I live with my wonderful wife Linda. We have five grown children together and have been blessed with ten grandchildren! After the workday is over I usually go to the gym to work out, and when I find the time I enjoy a good game of golf and going to college football games. I’ve been in my church’s choir for over 20 years. Above all, I love spending time with my family; those are my happiest times!
